Spring has arrived on Squam Lake, and Squam Fest is just a little over a week away. Cottage Place on Squam Lake will soon welcome guests for a weekend designed to celebrate the season through local makers, thoughtful experiences, and community.

Taking place May 2 and 3, Squam Fest: Spring Solstice brings together a curated collection of vendors offering vintage finds, handmade goods, artwork, clothing, jewelry, home décor, baked treats, and locally crafted products. It is a setting where guests can explore, shop, and enjoy the natural beauty of Holderness, New Hampshire.

Live performances will take place throughout the weekend, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere across the property.

Offerings include Dolce al Limone, Blueberry Coconut Margaritas, Chocolate Espresso Martinis, and Orange Dreamsicle cocktails, along with a fully garnished Bloody Mary. Spirit free mocktails, wine, and beer are also available, with both cash and card accepted.

Experiences throughout the weekend include a dried flower bar and flower crown building, as well as fairy house building for younger guests. With Mother’s Day approaching, the event offers an ideal opportunity to find thoughtful gifts from more than 45 local artisans, including baked goods, jewelry, artwork, upcycled pieces, clothing, and psychic readings.

Winter is here, and there’s no better way to enjoy it than exploring the trails around Squam Lake on a snowmobile. At Cottage Place on Squam Lake, we’re excited to welcome snowmobilers to stay with us and bring their machines to experience all that this beautiful region has to offer.

Our property is perfectly located for snowmobile adventures. With trail entrances just across Little Squam Lake, you’ll have easy access to miles of scenic routes. We provide trail maps on site, so you can plan your ride and explore safely.

For those who prefer digital planning, we also recommend downloading the app SledNH2026 for $5 a year. The app shows which trails are open, where gas stations are along your route, and other helpful trail information to make your rides easier and more enjoyable.

Crossing Little Squam Lake from Cottage Place is the quickest route to access the trails during your stay. While the lake is a stunning winter playground, please remember that the ice is never completely safe. Always use caution when traveling across or near the lake to ensure a fun and safe adventure.

If you’d rather not cross iced-over Little Squam Lake, you can always trailer over to Ashland Town Beach and access trail P204. Go through the town campground to access Ashland, Bridgewater, Holderness and Meredith. Go over the covered bridge, across Route 3 to access Plymouth, Campton and Rumney.

Don’t forget, we also offer late checkout at 1 PM for $25 or early check-in at 2 PM, giving you extra flexibility during the winter months so you can hit the trails without worrying about check-in or check-out times.

We offer additional parking at the back and along the sides of our property for snowmobile trailers. You can visit the map on our website to view our additional parking locations, so you can bring the crew or just the two of you for a weekend getaway.

Whether you’re traveling with friends or family, we have accommodations to fit your group. Book our larger spaces like the Lodge or Apartment for bigger groups, or choose one of our cabins or suites for a cozy weekend getaway for just a couple of people.

Squam Fest: A Witchy Weekend!

What a weekend! Squam Fest: A Witchy Weekend at Cottage Place on Squam Lake was truly something special. We had the most beautiful weather, peak fall foliage, and a weekend full of smiling faces, music, and community. The energy all around the lake was relaxed, festive, and full of magic.

A Weekend Full of Fall Fun

Guests checked in at the Happier Camper Ticket Booth before wandering through rows of unique local vendors offering handmade goods, art, food, and fall favorites. Many visitors spent the afternoon lounging in Adirondack chairs, taking in the colorful foliage, sipping seasonal drinks, and listening to live music after browsing the vendor market. Others wandered down to Cottage Place’s private beach, where they soaked up the sunshine and the lake views.

Families had just as much fun — children played on the playground, joined in on Pumpkin Carving with their families, and enjoyed Trick or Treating, sponsored by NH Broadband, Meredith Village Savings Bank, and Amoskeag Beverages. Everyone found something to enjoy, from festive snacks to local vendors that catered to every age and interest.

The food lineup was a hit, with JRNY Flatbreads Pizza Bus, Buns on The Run, Lure Mobile Bistro, The Lively Lemon, Merrill Family Farm, and Free Spirits Mobile Bar serving up delicious food, fall favorites and drinks all weekend long.

Music, Makers, and Memories

The live music set the perfect tone for the weekend, featuring performances by Colin Hart, Audrey Drake, Gillian Turner, and the Dan Fallon Band, along with lively shows from the Stormbirds Belly Dancers and the Wicked Witches of the Lakes Region. The combination of music, laughter, good food, and lake views made it an unforgettable fall weekend.

The highlight for us was the Bear Show , a tradition that dates back to 1949 when the Clark family began training bears for entertainment. Pumpkin Blossom Farm greets you with a sea of soft purple, the gentle sound of chickens roaming the grounds, and a warm, welcoming atmosphere. July is peak lavender season, and the fields were vibrant and fragrant, offering a sensory escape from the ordinary.

As we walked through the rows of lavender, gentle bees drifted from bloom to bloom, quietly going about their work. They were harmless, simply doing their job among the blossoms, adding to the farm’s peaceful, natural rhythm.

The farm provides everything you need for a relaxed, hands-on lavender picking experience. At check-in, you’re given clippers, a basket, and friendly instructions on where and how to clip the stems for best results. They even offer smaller clippers for children, making it a great activity for families.

After picking, we explored the property further—a charming barn stocked with all things lavender: handmade soaps, lotions, sachets, dried bouquets, and more. We couldn’t resist sampling their lavender iced tea and lavender ice cream—both were as delicious as they were refreshing.

Visitors are welcome to pack a picnic lunch and enjoy it anywhere on the farm’s beautiful open grounds. With peaceful spaces surrounded by blooming fields, it's an ideal spot to relax, unwind, and soak in the sights and scents of the season. There are also a few kid-friendly activities on site, including space to roam and explore nature, making it a calm and enjoyable outing for families.

And good news for dog owners—Pumpkin Blossom Farm is dog-friendly! Well-behaved pups are welcome as long as they are kept on a leash, both for safety and to protect the free-roaming chickens who call the farm home. It was wonderful to enjoy the experience with our furry friend by our side.

This past July 8th, Cottage Place on Squam Lake came alive with the vibrant flavors and festive spirit of our Tacos and Tequila Night—and what a night it was! Locals and guests gathered together for an unforgettable summer evening filled with delicious tacos, expertly crafted tequila cocktails, live music, and the stunning natural beauty of Squam Lake as our backdrop.

An Evening to Remember

From 6:00 PM to 9:00 PM, our guests indulged in a mouthwatering variety of tacos prepared by Braiz'N Hell. Each bite was perfectly complemented by special tequila cocktails served by Free Spirits Mobile Bar, making for a refreshing and flavorful experience.

One guest captured the mood perfectly, exclaiming with excitement, “Look, the party came to me, this is awesome!” It was a sentiment shared by many throughout the evening.

Adding to the magic of the night was the incredible acoustic sound and soulful vocals of Colin Hart. His live performance created the perfect soundtrack—intimate, engaging, and full of energy—that kept guests happily immersed in the evening’s atmosphere. So much so, that by the end of the night, tacos were completely sold out—and due to popular demand, we happily extended the music for an extra hour to keep the celebration going.
